The Trinity is the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son.

The Divine Nature is prior to the Personalities. God is the Trinity.

Every external operation of God is due to the whole Trinity, and cannot be attributed to one Person alone, save by appropriation as concerns the Holy Ghost.

The two processions within the Godhead and the internal acts of thought and will in the human mind are analogous.

The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity is the Word, the intellectual concept.

The Son proceeds from the Father as the term of an intellectual procession.

The Father has from all eternity begotten His consubstantial Word.

The Son is the only-begotten of the Father.

The Holy Spirit proceeds as the term of the act of the Divine will.

The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son as the term of the love by which God loves Himself.

The Holy Ghost is from the Father and the Son, neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
